When I first sent a tweet about “Review time” for the various Twitter clients I don’t think I fully understood what I was getting myself into. So after a few days of testing, playing and headaches, I present the most extensive Twitter client review I could handle.
Name: Social Scope (BETA, you will need to be invited)
Download: http://www.socialscope.net/
Review: As of today, this is my current Twitter client [supports Facebook also] of choice. Ton’s of feature including: Reply, ReTweet, Favorite, View Profile, Follow, View Followers, Search Twitter, Go To Twitter User… I could go on for an hour. UI/Speed: Very nice UI and the speed is very impressive.

Review: Its loaded and I use it on and off, but the advertisements are a real turn off. Features include the normal: View Profile, Your Replies, Direct Messages, ReTweet, Favorite and Block. Other nice items are: View Everyone near you, Trending Topics, Search Twitter by distance, Copy Tweet and Email Tweet. UI/Speed: The UI is nice except for the random advertisements that pop-up in your timeline. Speed is kind of slow, seems to take a noticeable amount of time to update and search Twitter.
Name: TweetGenius (BETA, I need an invite)

Review: Still waiting on license (hint hint). What I’ve seen and used before it tells me “Device PIN not authorized” looks fantastic. The big issue I have at the moment is support for the Storm. UI/Speed: Didn’t get to see much, but it looks the closest as to how Twitter looks and feels. Speed is unknown

Review: This was the very first Twitter client I used and I still go back to it now and again. My big problem is that you open the app in your timeline update vs. looking at a timeline. UI/Speed: Its an “ok” client, after using others it feels a little basic. Speed is great, nice and fast.
Name: Viigo (Free)

Review: Everyone knows about Viigo and App World has all the reviews you need. Nothing against Viigo, but I just haven’t loaded it back on my device. I’m sure that I will, just looking at other RSS options (see previous post) UI/Speed: Love the look but the speed is a little slow.
Name: TwiXtreme (Free)

Review: For what they are stating on their website, I wasn’t all that impressed. It has all the bells and whistles listed with other clients but just didn’t seem to update unless I hit “Refresh”. UI/Speed: Look was fine, started to get annoyed by the bouncing bird when I did a refresh. Speed was good.
Name: Tiny Twitter (Free)

Review: I can see how the in-box integration is nice, I find that I need more integration with Twitter. UI/Speed: Its your in-box, you see it everyday. Speed was ok.

Review: Text based Twitter, easy to read and follow. Some features, but not to the extent I was hopping. UI/Speed: Its a basic look and feel, speed was fast, but not much going on.

Review: This will be short… Didn’t work “Uncaught exception:”
Name: Twibble (BETA and Free)
Download: http://m.twibble.de
Review: Maybe it was my last review, but I wasn’t crazy about this app. UI/Speed: Basic and slow
App World provides many others from Free to $39.99 that I listed below in two categories; Pay and Free. Now if you do a search for “twitter”, you will find many other apps that extend other data like SmartShopper, various GPS tracking apps and even a Diet/Calorie counter (not sure I want to tweet my diet information). I chose to focus on apps that cater to Twitter only and keep the review to App World.
$ = $1.00
Others Pay: Twitterlerts ($$$$$),Tweet Chip ($$$), Toot ($$$), IM Plus (BIG $),
Others Free: BigTinCan, Snap2Twitter, TwitVid, TweetCaster, TwitBreeze
Others Free: BigTinCan, Snap2Twitter, TwitVid, TweetCaster, TwitBreeze
